Greetings!

So, here's what I've got so far.

The blog url, laeticiaknollys, was chosen a while ago when I created this blog for possible future use.

I have always had a soft spot for Lettice Knollys, who married Dudley right in Elizabeth I's teeth and lived to tell the tale. And flaunt her style about the court, what's more. Not many ladies got away with that!

The red color is to remind us of the brains behind the outfit, Avid Reader. Seemed appropriate.

I am not sure yet of all the participants, but in this case, expanding a bit on what we've got at Theme Thursday, everyone will have the ability to author a post.

That way, when it comes down to discussion time, you can add your own piece at your own pace.

In fact, I'm inclined to go even further, and give us all the go-ahead to post here at any time in between discussions. Our own recommendation page, as it were. Good finds that you come across, old favorites, the odd essay that may have been percolating in your brain. Just a thought?

At present, this blog is restricted to the authors and cannot be viewed or commented on by anyone else. We can certainly change that if we want to, but just at the beginning, I for one am inclined to keep the circle closed, except of course for those who want in on the discussion!

Happy Reading!

  1. Hi Megan! This is gonna be a load of fun. We may even learn more through each other's former/future reads. I'm always open to exploring the works of those I've not read( or heard of ). And you can never stop learning. I see you've the first two books up, on the read list. Fabulous!

  2. Hi Megan!
    Hi Subby!
    Hi everyone!
Its looking good! I have sent you an email- in which I have said SORRY for jumping the gun a bit about talking about the VBC on my blog!! Hope it doesn't cause any probs- didn't realise that it was going to be restricted- but yes, good idea to take it slowly and keep it for those who are really interested in reading the book. However- I think it would be great to make it public eventually- I know that my sisters and mum are interested in reading along, although they will never comment, they would enjoy reading everyone else's comments.

I've got the first book ordered at the library:)

  3. ps- also liked your idea of allowing contributors to post about books they have read inbetween discussing the book-of-the-month- as a sort of recommendation.

  4. Cinn - I don't have any problem with letting your family in! (Or mine, for that matter.) It's just a preliminary precaution...

  8. Thanks for inviting me to join. I've read the March book and have a lot of things to say about it. But I don't want to spoil it for anyone who is still reading! So is there a date after which we should wait to make comments?
