August

Is anybody there?

Has anyone a suggestion for August reading? There are a few books I'm interested in reading (actually several). I will list them here. These are just suggestions of course.

-The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Stieg Larson)
-The Sheltering Sky (Paul Bowles)
-The Plague (Albert Camus)
-The Deptford Trilogy (Robertson Davies)
-The Spirit Catches You and You Fall (Anne Fadiman)
-The Windup Bird Chronicles (Haruki Murakami)

  1. I would happily read Sheltering Sky again because it was a terrific read many years ago. I love Paul Bowles.

This book club seems to need a wake-up call or something to revitalize it!

  2. I've heard about the Girl with the Dragon Tatoo somewhere...I will get it from the library.
    Good suggestions, all of them.

  3. I agree with Barbara!

What's the consensus? I'm happy with anything. Does anyone have Book Lust? A great companion to bring to the library, btw.

  4. I am still here but have been so busy reading blogs and poetry, and going to festivals, that my reading seems to have to have taken lower priority. Still reading Fugitive Pieces...

happy to ready anything- Cuppa Jo- perhaps you could choose a couple from your list and put them up for August and September?

This poor little blog does seem to be a bit neglected.

  5. It is a neglected, isn't it? Avid Reader inspired it but then was never seen again...JB, where you at?!?

I do want to try and keep this blog going. And no, I haven't even finished The Banyan Tree yet. Argh!

    Yes, Jo, pick something!
